Reflection:
During this recording, I learned how to use the snowball for voiceover, and I also learned that using different angles is important although I didn’t really use a variety of angles. We got to go outside of the class to go film, and we had to remember our lines so it would come out good.

Objective: 
For this project, we tired to show kids that doing good in school and getting good grades will help us out in the future for college, and that we’ll be able to get more opportunities. The point of this commerical was for it to be informational.

Trident Commercial

Objective:
The point of this video was to put the different angles and shots into the actual film. And it was to get an experience of shooting a commercial from start to finish. And how to edit it using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.

Reflection:
During this project, I learned how to  use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, and how to edit using it. I also learned how to shoot from different angles, and how to transition them to make it look smooth. I learned that centering the person takes away the attention from them, and gives it to something else, either in back of them or from of them that isn’t centered.

Camera Angles and Shots

Objective:
The point of this project was to learn about the 20 different types of camera angles and different types of shots you can take. We had to take 20 different pictures according to the shot, whether it was an establishing shot, a long shot, full shot, 3/4 shot, medium shot, medium close up, close up, extreme close up, two shot, over the shoulder, high and low angle, oblique angle, noseroom, lead room, headroom, horizon line, and three pictures of the rule of thirds.

My reflection:
During this project, i learned how to take different pictures using different angles, and shots. I did not know that i was not suppose to center the person, or main thing that you are taking a picture of. If you move the object more to the side, and use a different angle, then it gets a persons attention more than it would if it were to be centered. I also learned a high angle shot can make a person taller then they really are. That a extreme or establishing shot shows the whole picture, a long shot shows most of the picture but not the entire picture, a full shot shows the whole body of a person, 3/4 shot shot shows from the knees to the head, medium shot shows from the waist up, medium close up shows from the breasts up, close up shows the person’s head, extreme close up shows the person’s face but not the entire head area, two shot shows two important people, over the shoulder pretty much tells you what it is, a low angle is taken from a higher area to down below, oblique shot is where the angle isn’t 90 degrees and ect,.

Documentary on Merit Pay

Artifact : My Video

Objective:
The reason why we made this documentary was to inform people about how it’s going to to affect not only teachers but students as well if this law were to be passed. It was also to  find out people’s opinions about merit pay. Most people aren’t aware of what merit pay is yet they have all these opinions on it not knowing what it actually is.

My reflection:
Too fully complete this documentary, i had to first brainstorm and decide on my topic. I choose to do it on merit pay because not much people know about merit pay and how this whole thing might affect people. I also had to come up with questions with my group, and had to make a flow chart of what was going to be coming out in my documentary. I had to go and ask teachers if they were willing to participate in my video, some teachers didn’t want to because of the subject. After getting all the interviews, i had to research information. After that I had to edit it, and upload the videos.

Claymation

About the project;

What the project was about was to pair up with a group and create a synopsis of what our commercial was going to be about. Then, we had to make a sketch of what our characters were going to look like.  We had to create a script of what they were going to be saying or sounds that were going to be in out scene. Our group had to create a story board indicating what was going to be happening during the commercial. Once the teacher approved of it, we started to actually create the characters and get a cardboard box to create the background. Once we were done with our set and characters, we would have to take 480 shots to make 30 seconds. Once all the pictures were done, we uploaded them to the computer and started to edit them. We loaded them to iMovies and edit frames together so the claymation can look real.

My reflection;

What i learned about doing the claymation project was like you have to use 16 shots for one second. I also learned how to use photoshop and how to fix a picture by using a cloning stamp. I learned that lighting in important for the shot. I also learned that to make a video look better, you have to take pictures from different angles, not just from one angle. A comercial is about 30 seconds long which means we had to take about 480 shots.

Elements and Principles.

About the project;

What the project was about was to pair up with a partner and take pictures of the different elements. Some of the things that we had to capture was lines, shape or form, color, texture, pattern, space, contrast, emphasize, balance, unity, rhythm, and movement. We had to understand the differences between some of the elements before we took the picture because what would have been the point to take pictures if we didn’t know what we were taking pictures of. It wouldn’t have made sense. Once we took the pictures, we uploaded them into the computer and started editing them into a video.

My reflection;

What we learned by doing this project was the definitions of the different types of elements. We also learned the differences on how they looked and what’s important about them. Some elements are seen by their eyes, but others are felt by hand. So not only is it important to look at the element, but to actually pay attention to it.
